Who we are

November 2006 saw the birth of ‘Elbow’ – a team of 8 engineering students from different colleges and fields headed by Kumar.L


The team practiced to see the world around them in a perspective different from others, identifying blind spots that could be corrected with simple devices. The objective of the team was to construct innovative projects that would benefit the society and eventually start a research foundation that developed such budding innovators.


By the end of the year 2008, they had presented their innovations at more than 38 institutions across India, among which were prestigious institutions like VIT, ANNA University, IITs, BITS Pilani and Goa, NITK Surathkal.etc.The projects earned honorable mentions on IEEE magazines and websites, as well as in newspapers like The Hindu, The Times of India, Business Today, Ergo, Dinathathi and Dinamalar tabloids….etc.


The team won many prestigious awards and was featured in several newspapers and TV channels, most notably are an award from Shri.Kapil Sibal (then Science and Tech Minister,


Govt of India) and ‘Best Business Plan’ award by CEOs of TATA Steel, TATA Motors and TCS at IIT Madras


 Elbow Engineers is now managed by Kumar and Jyotsna. They continue to develop projects that India needs. Below is the list of inventions that were created by the team and the links of newspapers and channels that have featured the success of the Elbow Engineers.

  • 12 years of experience with strong environmental awareness, excellent Research and Development skills, and the ability to find innovative solutions.

  • Experienced in navigating teams through changing business environments.

  • Passionate intercultural expert with a blend of experience in Research, teaching, Product Development, curiosity, Imagination, Design , Analysis , public speaking and management in international and diverse settings.

  • A self-motivated and organized professional with over 5 years' experience providing thorough and skillful support to Directors.

They hold four patents, each with a different social purpose ranging from accident prevention systems, prosthetic arms for the physically challenged, guidance systems for the visually challenged and mosquito trapping devices

Dr. Kumar Loganathan


Dr. Kumar is a visionary, whose mission is to cater to the needs of the masses and serve for the well-being of the society. His vision is to use innovative technology to develop high-quality products to address the issues faced by mankind. He has hands- on experience in launching a new product to the market, sustaining and maintaining demand and supply.


Education qualification: Ph.D. in Science, M.S by research, M.Sc in Geoinformatics, M.Sc in applied Psychology and B.E Mechanical Engineering


Jyotsna Ravikumar


Jyotsna, Creative Head is technically sound in programming the embedded systems involved in the humidity control in the device. Develops information systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions. She determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. She holds a B.Tech Information Techonology.
